Yes, it's far. We promise it's worth it.
アクセス
A friendly, step-by-step guide from the US to our little corner of the Aomori coast.
From your front door to the coast
行き方Fly into Tokyo
Most guests will fly from the US into Tokyo (Haneda HND or Narita NRT). From the West Coast it's roughly 11 hours direct. We recommend arriving a day or two early to shake off the jet lag (and eat a lot of ramen).
Shinkansen to Hachinohe
From Tokyo Station, hop on the Tōhoku Shinkansen (Hayabusa line) straight to Hachinohe — about 3 hours of beautiful countryside at 320 km/h. Reserve seats in advance; we'll share a group booking option closer to the date.
The last leg
Our venue sits along the coast about 25 minutes from Hachinohe Station. Local taxis, rental cars, and a wedding shuttle on the big day will all get you there. Details to come with your invitation.
A few tips for the trip
- Japan Rail Pass holders ride the Hayabusa with a seat reservation — worth it if you're touring beyond Aomori.
- Pick up a Suica or Welcome Suica card at the airport for trains, buses, and convenience stores.
- Cash is still king in rural Aomori — bring some yen for taxis and smaller shops.
- Download offline maps; mobile coverage is good but spotty on the coastal trails.

その他Fly to Misawa (MSJ)
Misawa Airport is ~40 min from Hachinohe with domestic connections via Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo. A good option if you'd rather skip the train.
Fly to Aomori (AOJ)
Aomori Airport is about 1.5 hours away by car and connects to several domestic hubs. Scenic, but a touch farther from the venue.
Make a trip of it
